About Paul

Paul has been working in public practice accountancy and taxation firms in Launceston since 1990 and has been part of the Parker Accounting Team since April 2014.

Pauls qualifications include:

• 1990 Graduated with a Business Degree
• 1994 Became a Chartered Accountant (Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand)
• 2010 Became a personally registered Tax Agent
• 2012 Became a Chartered Tax Adviser (Tax Institute of Australia)
• 2017 Financial Planning Diploma

Paul has experience in a vast array of areas of accountancy and taxation including specifically:

• A significant agricultural client base and personal background and ongoing personal involvement in Agriculture.
• Experienced with deceased estates working within a mixed accountancy taxation and law firm.
• First hand experience as a property developer.
• An interest in Self-Managed Superannuation Funds
• Incorporated Associations – Current and/or former treasurer of 3 incorporated associations and approved to audit small incorporated associations.

Having recently completed his Diploma of Financial Planning Paul is keen to provide clients with a link between the accountancy and taxation services that we provide and the complexities of the financial planning industry.

On a personal note Paul is married with three children. He had a long association with local sport as a cricket and football (AFL) player. Paul a multiple premiership player was selected in the Launceston Cricket Clubs One Day Team of the Century and is a Life member of the club where he was Treasurer for 10 years. Paul played in two premierships with the Avoca Football Club and also played with the Launceston Football Club. His children have continued the sporting involvement and the McShane name continues to be known in junior sporting circles including Athletics, Basketball, Football and Cricket.
